A Hole in Sam's truck

On July 25, 2011, I was out front talking with another neighbor who happened to ask, "How'd you get that hole in your truck?" "What hole?" I responded. He took me over and showed me the hole. It had not been there the previous evening. I immediately thought of the Bowmans, particularly Brian. I did not relish the idea of a car repair. Upon checking prices to repair or replace the door, estimates were, in fact, all in the thousands of dollars. The next day I showed the damage to Brian Bowman. "Gee!" he said, "Who would do a thing like that?" Then he walked away. Several days later I was leaving to go somewhere and Brian called over to me. "I think I know what happened to your truck," he said. "I think my ex-wife did that. She's really pi**ed off at me and she probably came over at night and thought your truck was my van and did this." Then he walked away.
We hoped, seeing as how Brian had acknowledged that a former family member was responsible and that the Bowman family owns two car repair businesses, that he might offer their services to repair the damage. We were not surprised, however, when he did not. Ultimately we opted for a far less expensive solution that might even prove beneficial to our own business.
